XDF™ TRANSDERMAL FLAVOSOMES 

Patent pending technology created by Dr. Menning. XDF™  is a novel liposomal skin care delivery system that delivers plant flavonoids and other beneficial ingredients to the skin. Plant flavonoids have been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties but they are highly insoluble in traditional skincare formulations. XDF™  enables us to fully realize the therapeutic potential of beneficial plant flavonoids in skin care.

The XDF™  technology was then applied to our first product offering, the EQ Collection (combining epigallocatichin gallate (EGCG) and quercetin) for the treatment of acne. Existing products for acne either kill healthy cells (salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide) or have dangerous side effects (retinol). The EQ products were specially formulated with XDF™  to significantly increase the solubility of EGCG and quercetin and deliver them into the skin.  

WHY FLAVONOIDS

Plant flavonoids are a large family of over 5,000 hydroxylated polyphenolic compounds. Recent research has focused on the health aspects of flavonoids for humans. Many flavonoids are shown to have antioxidative activity, free radical scavenging capacity, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities, while some flavonoids exhibit potential antiviral activities and target key inflammatory markers related to the aging process, also known as inflammaging.  

Flavonoids are present in many common foods such as green tea, onions, grapes, berries, cherries, broccoli, and citrus fruits.  The amount of flavonoids present in ingested food has little importance because they are poorly absorbed and can’t be readily available to target tissues within the body. 

XDF™ was developed specifically to overcome the bioavailability challenge and to increase the solubility of these powerful compounds and target the site of action in the skin. 

The EQ products feature a combination of plant flavonoids Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) and Quercetin, which have been shown to be powerful anti-inflammatory ingredients and antimicrobial agents for the treatment of acne and other skin conditions related to inflammation.
