About MARK Los Angeles

MARK Los Angeles is a skincare brand founded by Mark Menning, PhD, world renowned pharmaceutical scientist and Dee Khalsa, Spa and Wellness expert. The mission of MARK Los Angeles is to transform the paradigm of skin care by delivering beneficial plant flavonoids using XDF™ technology developed in our laboratories, Menning Labs.

MARK Los Angeles was born out of a frustration with current products on the market and Mark’s own personal struggle with acne, especially after exercising. He first developed a novel method for increasing the solubility of compounds that have been shown to be beneficial. This initial product led to the discovery of XDF™ — Transdermal Flavosomes delivery system using a combination of flavonoids to treat acne and inflammation and redness caused by bacterial infections.

The XDF™ technology was then applied to our first product offering, the EQ series (combining epigallocatichin gallate (EGCG) and quercetin) for the treatment of acne. Existing products for acne either kill healthy cells (salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide) or have dangerous side effects (retinol). The EQ products were specially formulated with XDF™ to significantly increase the solubility of EGCG and quercetin and deliver them into the skin.

Our formulation philosophy is simple. It’s the same philosophy Dr. Menning used to develop life saving HIV drugs – only use the necessary ingredients. All of the ingredients must have a function to benefit the skin and must be used at levels determined safe by global regulatory agencies.
